Local Law #2 of 1976

PROHIBITION OF THE RUNNING OF DOGS AT LARGE IN THE VILLAGE OF CANDOR

BE IT ENACTED by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Candor as follows:

SECTION 1:

It shall be unlawful for the owner of any dog, whether or not licensed, to permit such dog to be at large anywhere in the Village of Candor, other than on premises owned or controlled by the owner unless such dog is restrained by a leash or is accompanied by, and under the immediate control of, the owner or a responsible agent of the owner.

SECTION 2:

Any dog found at large in the Village of Candor in violation of this Local Law may be seized by the dog warden or any peace officer and shall be disposed of as provided in Section 114-a of the Agriculture and MArkets Law as from time to time amended.

SECTION 3:

A violation of this Local LAw shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $25.00 for the first violation; of not more than $50.00 for the second violation; and not more than $75.00 for the third and any subsequent violation; and in addition, for the second and any subsequent violation, by imprisonment for not more than ten (10) days.

SECTION 4:

This Local Law shall take effect immediately.
