Local Law #1 of 1995

SENIOR CITIZENS TAX EXEMPTION

SECTION 1:

Pursuant to Section 467 subdivisions (a) and (b), et seq., of the Real Property Tax Law of the STate of New York as amended, persons who are owners of property subject to taxation by the Village of Candor qualify for an exemption under the terms of such statute and/or any Rules and Regulations of the State Board of Equalization and Assessment and/or by any Rules and Regulations of any local Assessment Authorities for the various tax districts located within the Village of Candor, shall be partially exempt from taxation by the Village in accordance with the following schedule as it applies to such persons and their annual income as determined by such assessing units:

	ANNUAL INCOME		PERCENT ASSESSED VALUATION EXEMPT FROM TAXATION
	$0 to $10,000.00		50 per cent
	$10,001.00 to $11,000.00		45 per cent
	$11,001.00 to $12,000.00		40 per cent
	$12,001.00 to $13,000.00		35 per cent
	$13,301.00 to $13,900.00		30 per cent
	$13,901.00 to $14,800.00		25 per cent
	$14,801.00 to $15,700.00		20 per cent
	$15,701.00 or more		0 per cent

SECTION 2:

Such revised schedule of assessment exemption shall be effective for any taxes levied and collected after March 1, 1995, and subsequent to that date shall supersede any prior exemption granted by the Village persuant to such statute.

SECTION 3:

The Clerk of the Village of Candor is directed to provide a certified copy of this Local Law to each of the Assessors and any other authority responsible for the compilation of the Assessment Roll and/or collection of taxes for each property subject to taxation by the Village of Candor.

SECTION 4:

This Local Law shall be effective on March 1, 1995. Any previous local law of the Village of Candor concerning such exemptions as granted herein is hereby repealed as of March 1, 1995.

I hereby certify that the local law annexed hereto, designated as Local Law No. 1 of 1995 of the Village of Candor, New York, was duly passed by the Board of Trustees on February 21, 1995, and was approved by the Mayor and was deemed duly adopted on February 21, 1995, in accordance with the applicable provisions of law.

I further certify that I have compared the preceding Local Law with the original on file in this office and that the same is a correct transcript therefrom and of the whole of such original Local Law, and was finally adopted in the manner indicated in paragraph 2, above.
