Candor Town Board Workshop September 20, 2011

The Candor Board Workshop was called to order at 6:00pm followed by pledge to the flag and prayer.

Present: Supervisor Cobler, Clm. Bish, Clm. Lindsay, Clm. Williams and Town Clerk Kulze.
Absent: Clm. Dougherty and Attorney Schrader.
Guest: 6 People from the public and 1 Press Representative.

The Board brought up some changes and additions to the "Rules for Privilege of the Floor". Clm. Bish, Clm. Lindsay and Supervisor Cobler submitted their ideas.

Supervisor Cobler will type up the final version for the Rules for Privilege of the Floor.

The Board discussed Vets and Senior Citizens Exemptions. They compared Town limits to Tioga County exemption limits. They also discussed having a public hearing which must be advertised and filed prior to November 1st with the State.

Clm. Williams has requested Assessor Spaulding information on the Veteran’s Exemptions for our next regular board meeting.

Supervisor Cobler stated that our Bookkeeper Carol Fenton is convinced that she needs a different computer program. They already have quotes from BAS and Williamson.

Joan Meddaugh asked the Board to place an ad in the Candor Statement regarding thanking the residents of Candor for helping their neighbors and all during the flood of 2011. Clm. Bish thought it was not necessary and suggested writing a letter to the editor which would be of no charge.

Workshop was adjourned at 7:22.
