The Planning Board is comprised of seven members who are residents of
the Town of Candor, one of whom serves as a chairperson. Planning Board
Members are appointed by the Town Board, and serve a seven year term.
The members’ terms are staggered.
The Planning Board works to maintain and improve the quality of life in
our community. Acting upon such issues as applications for site plan
review, housing developments, special use permits, subdivisions,
environmental protection and agriculture, the Planning Board affects
your everyday life.
The Planning Board meets the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 P.M.
at the Town of Candor Town Hall. All Planning Board meetings are open to
the public. The Planning Board schedules work sessions and site visits
as necessary.
The purpose of site plan review is to insure that development in the
Town of Candor meets the minimum requirements of the town’s local laws.
Applicants are urged to take the application guidelines as a starting
point to providing as much thoughtful information needed to explain all
facets of a project to the Planning Board.
